New Build, Off-Grid, Alpine-style Chalet

This design is a small, 1 Bedroom, alpine-style home.

The design includes 1 bedroom downstairs, with a loft above for extra space, accessed by a custom built timber ladder. The downstairs living area has custom timber joinery, exposed lime washed rafters and large windows to a view of the surrounding hills. A combustion stove provides heating during winter and a reverse cycle system will provide cooling during summer.

Internal linings are a mixture of timber and plaster, while exterior claddings are a mix of radial sawn timber, sourced from seconds stock, and colorbond. There is also an extensive area of decking, stone landscaped outdoor fire pit and seating area.

The house is completely off-grid including solar hot water, water tanks and waste treatment.

A custom made ‘barn-style’ roller door forms the entrance to the carport area.
